Novecento is a film set in Italy. The film follows the lives of two boys, Alfredo Berlinghien (Robert De Niro) and Olmo Dalco (Gerard Depardieu) who grow into men. This film portrays the conflicts with each other and their personal conflicts in life spanning from 1900 to 1945 and paints a picture of how these events in their lives formed the destiny of the two characters. This movie focuses mainly on the rise of Fascism and the men supporting Communism in the early years of the 20th century. This film also won an award in 1977 as Best European Film.
