Another of the Mrs. Murphy series, this one starts out awfully slowly.
There is a body buried under the hearth of a historic cabin on the grounds of Monticello. Then townsfolk are being murdered. What do the deaths have in common and who are the murderers?
This book was only OK, the action at the end doesn’t make up for the slow start.

Another Leslie Nielsen film and the start of three in the series. Nielsen is a cop and is working to protect the queen of England on her trip to the States.
Chock full of puns, this is another fun film featuring Priscilla Presley and Ricardo Montalban.
IMDB Score 7.6
Amazon Score 4.5/5
Frank, a hot dog (sausage) learns the terrible truth: what lies beyond the supermarket is death! Oddly enough this is an R-rated sex comedy with Frank and Brenda the bun.
This is funny for what it is.
IMDB Score 6.4/10
Amazon Score 2.6/5
First, this is very much a foreign film, lacking an American plot.
This is the story of 5 young soldiers in Russia getting trained for service. The stories are told in a series of vignettes, and lacks a central plot line.
There is more nudity in the film than is strictly necessary and for this and thematic reasons was banned in its native country.
I enjoyed the movie.

Ryan Harrison (Leslie Nielsen) is wrongfully accused of a murder and must clear his name.
Lampooning such films, Wrongfully Accused goes from one farce to the next.
This is pretty standard Nielsen fare and is amusing and is best bought in a bundle of Nielsen’s films.
IMDB Score 6.0/10

A shipping magnate assembles a team of experts to look into the mysterious disappearance of several ships in the Bermuda Triangle. This movie was originally a TV mini-series and is 4 hours long.
The experts analyze existing data and new crashes to find all sorts of mysteries. Also, a recent survivor of an incident struggles with a faulty memory and tries to both remember what has clearly happened and seeks the truth about his accident.
This is actually a good series of movies. It’s suspenseful and a bit creepy.
IMDB Score 6.6/10
Amazon Score 4.1/5
Starring several of the Brat Pack, St. Elmo’s Fire is the story of seven recent college graduates as they strike out on their own.
The film is OK and held my interest, but doesn’t really have more than that to recommend it.
IMDB Score 6.3/10
Amazon Score 4.3/5
Reacher is still in the Army and is assigned to go undercover in an Army town to find out who killed a local girl (and, it turns out, two others). He must find out if it was a soldier or a local.
Like the others, this is a good book. It is number 16 in the series and is the rare Army Reacher book.

In this R-rated extravaganza of T&A, our heroes, beer pong players all, embark on a road trip to meet up with the beer pong models.
To say that the movie has no plot is just the start.
I liked the original Road Trip movie, but this one is lacking.
IMDB Score 4.9/10

I’m clearly not getting the Criterion Collection. Mouchette is highly rated but was just an OK film.
Mouchette, a teenage girl falls in with the town poacher as her mother lays dying and her father slaps her around.
