Faux Paw (2015)

Faux Paw

In this most recent installation in the Magical Cats Mysteries, Katherine investigates the death of an art gallery curator and the theft of a drawing.

The cats help a little, but this one is mostly Katheryn and Marcus. This was more of a mystery than previous books and was enjoyable.

Brooklyn (2015)

Brooklyn

This is the tale of an Irish immigrant who relocates to Brooklyn. She meets, falls in love with and marries an American. When her sister dies, she returns to Ireland and meets a man there that she also falls in love with.

For an Oscar-nominated film, I was disappointed in it. It was just OK.

Stardust (2007)

Stardust

Tristan Thorn promises his beloved that he’ll get a fallen star if she’ll marry him. He needs to cross into a magical kingdom and finds that the star is not what he was expecting.

This is a good adventure and love story.

A Midwinter’s Tail

A Midwinter's Tail

Lastly in this little spurt in book reviews of the Magical Cats mysteries is this one. In A Midwinter’s Tail Kathleen, Hercules and Owen try to find out who murdered Dayna Chapman who is visiting town, perhaps to visit her boys that she hasn’t seen since she left town decades ago.

This book features some action and a good mystery as usual.

Final Cat Call (2013)

Final Catcall

OK, so I’m catching up on book reviews. I’ve read several in this series and this one pits Kathleen and the boys against the killing of a visiting play director.

Another good mystery and still somewhat funny.

Cat Trick (2013)

Cat Trick

In another Magical Cats mystery, Kathleen and the boys must find out who killed  partner in a travel company that is murdered during a trip back to Mayville Heights. Still not as funny as the first book, this is a good mystery.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008)

Star Wars the Clone Wars

Make no mistake, this is a cartoon. It is by LucasFilms, but the plot and animation are not feature film level.

Anakin and Obi-Wan must rescue Jabba the Hutt’s son and form a strategic alliance with the Hutts.

This movie is OK, but only just. It certainly isn’t worth the $37 Amazon wants for it new.

IMDB Score 5.8/10

Star Odyssey (1979)

Star OdysseyThis is a great B movie. The lip-sych is bad the color is mediocre and it uses black and white stock footage.

Earth is invaded by aliens and it is up to the primitive Earthlings to repel the attack by a superior foe with robots! Will the Earthlings be enslaved or will two convicts save the day?!

Can you believe Amazon.com wants $20 for this film?  Buy it in a collection of B movies like I did.
